YANGON 7 Jan — The following is a message of felicitations from Mr
Georgi Parvanov, President of the Republic of Bulgaria, sent to
Senior General Than Shwe, Chairman of the State Peace and
Development Council, on the occasion of the 57th Anniversary
Independence Day of the Union of Myanmar.
Your Excellency,
On the occasion of the National Holiday of the Union of Myanmar,
the Independence Day, please accept on behalf of the Bulgarian

attend graduation dinner of 2nd Intake of DSINPS
YANGON, 7 Jan — The graduation dinner of the 2nd Intake of Defence
Services Institute of Nursing and Paramedical Science was held at
the Convocation Hall of Defence Services Medical Academy, here,
this evening, attended by Vice-Chairman of the State Peace and
Development Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services
Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and wife
Daw Mya Mya San.
Also present at the dinner were Member of the State Peace and
Development Council General Thura Shwe Mann of the Ministry of
Defence and wife, Prime Minister Lt-Gen Soe Win and wife,
Secretary-1 of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen
Thein Sein and wife, Members of the State Peace and Development
Council Lt-Gen Ye Myint, Lt-Gen Aung Htwe, Lt-Gen Khin Maung Than,
Lt-Gen Maung Bo, Quartermaster-General Lt-Gen Thiha Thura Tin Aung
Myint Oo, Chief of Armed Forces Training Lt-Gen Kyaw Win and

Participants arrive to take part in ASEAN
Archery Championship
YANGON, 7 Jan — ASEAN Archery Federation President Mr Sanguan
Kosavinta, who heads a three-member delegation, arrived here by
air this evening. Myanmar is due to host the first ASEAN Archery
Championship to be held from 9 to 14 January 2005. They were
welcomed at Yangon International Airport by officials of the
Sports and Physical Education Department, President of Myanmar
Archery Federation Dr Khin Shwe and General Secretary U Kyaw Oo
and officials.
Similarly, Mr Baharuddin Jamil, four members of panel of judges, a
manager/ coach and 13 participants from Malaysia and Mr Hoong
Saumui and a member of the Board of Referees from Singapore also
arrived here by air this morning, and they were welcomed at the
airport by officials concerned.
