Our nation is the Union where various national groups live
together and each and every region is also like a small union
where different nationalities reside. As we have been living
together so long that we are inseparable, love and friendship and

Hungarian President felicitates Senior General Than Shwe
Yangon, 30 Jan - The following is a message of felicitations from
Mr Ferenc Madl, President of the Republic of Hungary, sent to
Senior General Than Shwe, Chairman of the State Peace and
Development Council, on the occasion of the 57th Anniversary
Independence Day of the Union of Myanmar.
Excellency,
On the occasion of the National Day of the Union of Myanmar, may I
convey my congratulations to Your Excellency and my best wishes to
the people of Myanmar.
Youths are being trained to become the well-rounded individuals
inspired with Union Spirit. Their participation in the
nation-building tasks will speed up the development of the
country. They are to inculcate correct thought and concept in the
people living in the areas in which they are assigned duties.

Myanmar boxers bag one silver, four bronze
Yangon, 30 Jan - The selected Myanmar boxing team won one silver
and four bronze in the ASEAN Boxing Amateur Championship-2005 held
in Hanoi, Vietnam, from 16 to 23 January.
Out of seven Myanmar boxers, Yan Naing Soe won a silver after he
had been defeated by the host Vietnamese boxers in the 57-kilo
featherweight division.
Bronze medalists were Zaw Myo Min in the 48-kilo event, Kyaw Kyaw
Latt in the 54-kilo event, Soe Yaza in the 60-kilo event and Aung
Thura in the 64-kilo event.
Myanmar Boxing Federation plans to achieve success in the SEA
Games.
