Secretary-1 hosts dinner for Union Day delegates

YANGON, 15 Feb — Chairman of Central Committee for Observance of the 58th Anniversary Union Day Secretary-1 of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Thein Sein hosted dinner for members of traditional cultural troupes of states and Taninthayi Division and members of the Union Solidarity and Development Association Union Day delegates at the National Indoor Stadium-1 in Thuwunna this evening.

It was also attended by Chairman of Management Committee for Observance of the 58th Anniversary Union Day Chairman of Yangon Division Peace and Development Council Commander of Yangon Command Maj-Gen Myint Swe, the ministers, the Chairman of Yangon City Development Committee Yangon Mayor, the deputy ministers, the vice-mayor, members of Central Committee and Management Committees for Observance of the 58th Anniversary Union Day, the director-general of the State Peace and Development Council Office, heads of departments, delegates of national race organizations, chairmen of Myanmar Thabin, Music and Motion Picture Asiayons and officials, artistes and guests.

The Secretary-1 enjoyed the dinner together with the Union Day delegates.

After the dinner, the Secretary-1 and party cordially greeted delegates of national race organizations and the Union Day delegates.

Artistes of the University of Culture (Yangon), Myanmar Music and Motion Picture Asiayons presented songs and Myanma traditional cultural dances.

More National Convention delegate groups arrive

YANGON, 13 Feb — National Convention delegates of respective groups arrived here by air and by car to attend the National Convention which is to resume on 17 February at the Nyaunghnapin Camp in Hmawby township.

The delegates arriving today included 23 from Kayah State, 10 from Shan State (North), 16 from Rakhine State, 1 from Shan State (South), 32 from Kachin State and 62 from Mandalay Division.

Similarly, 28 delegates from Shan State (South), 72 from Ayeyawady Division and 33 from Bago Division (East) 33 from Bago Division (West) arrived here today. They were welcomed and accommodated by the invitation, reception and accommodation subcommittee for convening of National Convention Commandant of Defence Services Records Office Brig-Gen Myo Myint and officials.
