  1. Myanmar -Japan volleyball friendly on 2 March

    YANGON, 1 March — A 22-member Japanese volleyball team headed by Mr Keiichiro Yamaguchi of Kinki University arrived here by air to take part in a Myanmar-Japan friendly which will take place at the National Indoor Stadium-1, Thuwunna, on 2, 4 and 6 March starting from 3 pm. Admission for the friendly is free, it is learnt.

  2. Vitorious Myanmar Archery Team arrives back

    YANGON, 1 March — Chairman of Myanmar Olympic Committee Minister for Sports Brig-Gen Thura Aye Myint welcomed back the vitorious Myanmar Archery Team which bagged two gold medals, one silver and two bronze at Yangon International Airport yesterday evening. The team took part in world qualifiers event of the First Asia Archery Tournament held in Bangkok from 23 to 28 February.

    Officials of the Ministry of Sports, Myanmar Women’s Sports Federation, executives of MAF, trainees of Sports and Physical Education Department and athletes aslo welcomed them. The team comprised Vice-Chairman of MAF U Tint San and 19 athlets.

    Japan stood first, the Philippines, second and Myanmar, third in the tournament.

    A total of 146 archers took part in the tournament.
