Senior General Than Shwe accepts credentials of Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic

YANGON, 4 March —Mr Miltiadis Hiskakis, newly accredited Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to the Union of Myanmar, presented his credentials to Senior General Than Shwe, Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council of the Union of Myanmar, at Zeyathiri Beikman on Konmyinttha, here, at 10.30 am today.

Also present on the occasion were State Peace and Development Council Secretary-1 Lt-Gen Thein Sein, Minister for Foreign Affairs U Nyan Win, Deputy Ministers for Foreign Affairs U Kyaw Thu and U Maung Myint and Director-General Thura U Aung Htet of the Protocol Department.

Myanmar maintains victory over Japan in volley friendly

YANGON, 4 March—Chairman of the Myanmar Olympic Committee Minister for Sports Brig-Gen Thura Aye Myint watched the second match of Myanmar-Japan volleyball friendly (men) at the National Indoor Stadium (1) in Thuwunna, here, this afternoon.

The selected Myanmar youths team came behind a set down to beat the Kinki University team 3-1. The friendly continues on 6 March at the same venue.
